Talking Darron Gibson

Quote:
The Sunderland midfielder Darron Gibson has claimed his team are “£#%&!ing shit” and has accused a number of his team‑mates of lacking commitment to the club.

None of them gave a shite last season...reminded me of United under Moyes in the spring of '14 and chelsea in the last few months of Mourinho. Players completely threw in the towel.

I reckon they might go down again this season.

Here's hoping so anyway.

It's very, very difficult to get relegated from the Prem and then the Championship in consecutive seasons. It takes a special kind of incompetence, a real talent. Has it ever even happened? Who knows.

Happned to Swindon Town in the 90s if I remember correctly. They were horrendous.

The norm is usually relegation, struggle in the Championship then relegation the season after - happened to Wigan and Portsmouth.

It actually happened in this decade too. But I do appreciate nobody mentioning it. As I say, it's a special kind of talent, especially with parachute payments.

i think so.

i think once the rot sets in, it's hard to shift... even united had a bit of this with Moyes.

There is some shit in that squad, and with the wages their on, who would want to move or who would want to buy them?

Another thing to keep in mind, if you will, is the fact that these players must have absolutely next to no motivation - they're shit, their teammates are bang mediocre and where's the incentive to do well? they're already millionaires, they won't win the league, so why not just do the bare minimum?

It's the problem with the huge wages - it makes it hard to motivate players who know despite their best efforts, they will not really achieve much.

Wouldn't be upset to see them fall further...
