thats the press for you, they love to sensationalise the idea of the "downfall of united"

a few losses/draws = united are past it and living off past glories
losing one match to the berties = a complete changing of the guard in manchester
finishing 2nd in the table instead of 1st = united have lost their winning ways and will be relegated in a few years...

etc etc

tony getting injured and being out for a year is simply fuel to their fire that we're now apparently shit and can't hold a torch to the renties/berties/arse. £#%&! 'em.

Doesn't bode well for Rooney. The reason he started playing so well as a centre forward last years was because he new that there were going to be good quality balls coming over from Tony V, without him he is likely to start wandering all over the place again.
