Default The problem = the philosophy or the personnel?

The latter imo, but it's a problem that LVG created.

The Rooney situation is unbelievable now. LVG is accountable for continually playing him - can anyone other than the Rooney Protection League on here offer an explanation as to why?

Why would you keep picking a player who is making major contributions to your own downfall??

The other big problem for me is Mata. For all his lauded technical ability he does not dominate games. Having such an immobile player starting from the right in addition to someone who can't control a football in the middle, means our attack is effectively crippled, especially on the counter.

Again LVG creates the problem for himself by selling more dynamic individuals & instead leaves only Young & Valencia as viable alternatives.

If we rectified these problems with an in form Depay on the left, Martial in the centre & a dynamic player on the right we'd have a good side that is comfortable in possession & possesses dynamism in attack.

Obviously the Shaw injury was a huge blow but Van Gaal is putting his faith in the wrong players.

Shaw/Memphis axis taken out with one bad tackle. You can't blame Van Gaal for that.

In a way it's not such a big deal because Martial can go past a man (or two) without needing his full back to overlap. But it's more often than not from a standing start, which slows things down. The other thing he's great at is worrying the byline, but by then everybody is static in the box.

Darmian's form has dropped off, so that exposes Mata's lack of pace. Now we have two slow flanks and that probably screws Rooney's chances of making runs and getting on the end of crosses.

Next season Darmian and Memphis will be great, Shaw will be back, everything's going our waaaaaaaay.

Indeed.

Some serious bedwetting yesterday by the usual suspects. All because United didnt win. Or lose for that matter.

The philosophy is set in stone. He's binned many players during his tenure and is now settled on the same 13/14 to play. The only time he makes changes is through subs and it's always like for like. The system never changes therefore are football doesn't change. No variety, no adaptation to the opponent. Palace were dominating second half and he just sits back and watches it happen

We´ve all watched United for many years and have been through thick and thin with a multitude of teams. Not always good to watch, but I´ve never been bored until now. Watching the gurge dished up by Louis truly is a BORING event.

Well, no. There's always the Plan B when we do need a goal when we're actually losing, which I'd rather not describe but is no easier on the eye either, as well as a bit of a giveaway about how effective he really thinks Plan A is.

We're playing every game with 10 men. Get fatty off, replCe him with Martial up top and pace on the left job done

I heard the Schweinsteiger deal included a 650m pound under the table bung to Beckenbauer.

He has spent at least £250m gross. Depends how much Martial ends up costing.

With what we've spent on transfers, we would have been better off just buying Man City. 'Least we would've ended up with a decent centre forward.

my point was that we might spend another £300mio. whether he has spent £200mio, £300mio or £400mio.

we could do with a world class centre forward. and a winger. we'll need two more midfielders soon. and maybe some fullbacks. not to mention a goalkeeper. and a few others.

and maybe we'll still be dull to watch.
