The 94 team were not good enough at the back to win the CL, Bruce and Pallister, 2 good domestic players, but they, were often exposed in Europe, and not even by the best sides, Galatasary and Gothenberg made them look average. Bruce was far too slow up against the best.

The squad was not strong enough either, if you actually look at the sides that we had to put out the foreigner rule was not as harsh as some make out. At most we missed 2 players from our best side, and if you can not cope without 2 players then it shows you how weak the squad actually was.

For example the team we put out in the humiliation at barca was

Walsh
Parker
Bruce
Pallister
Irwin
Kanchelskis
Keane
Butt
Ince
Giggs
Hughes

Schmeichel for Walsh and Cantona for Butt and we are at full strength.

The 94 team will always have a place in our hearts, played football the Utd way and started this era, but they were tactically lacking and a little one dimensional, brillaint on the counter, but struggled when we tried to slow the game down and control it with passing. Brilliant to watch though.

That run cost us our form in the league that season, we were £#%&!ing awful.
