Default Players you said "could do a job for United" but blatantly couldn't

I think I did mention once that James Beattie might be a useful addition to our striking team - when he was at Southampton

I'm not usually a championer of possible United signings, but Marouane Fallaini, BEFORE Everton signed him, oh, and Benzema, obviously.

I suppose it could be said that I led a one man campaign for United to sign Rafael Van Der Vaart from Ajax at one time.

Oh, ad whisper it, Lomano Lua Lua, JLoyd Samuel and the Fulham full back who is now at Reading, Rosenior, although, in fairness, that was when we were scratching around for new fullbacks and I didn't see much Brazilian youth football, so was panicking bit.

Years ago, Shearer. And before that Cyrille Regis.

Anyone who has played well for at least 30 secs against us. Including Dean Ashton.

Owen Hargreaves. I liked him when he was at Bayern, he did OK for us when he played but "do a job" implies you can rely on them and you can't. He's too injury prone. Shame really.
