Default Team v Milan - Thread

I'd go with this given the options we have available :-

VDS
Rafael
Vidic
Rio
Senegalese Superman
"Kick, Run, Cross"
Scholes
Fletcher
Park
Berbatov
Rooney

Light dig at this crossing over a bit with that thread? Furry muff i s'pose. As I've said, i'd start him as he is in good form and Gibson and Nani were poor at the weekend.

I would like us to get control of the midfield, but as we are lacking bodies in that area, we're struggling a bit, I would probably go with...

VDS
Rafael
Vidic
Rio
Evra
Valencia
Scholes
Fletcher
Park
Nani
Rooney

tbh.

Probably, though I'd not recommend it, there are a number of other players in the squad after all.

He might as he does seem to like the 4-3-3 in bigger games, not sure I'm a fan of Park in a midfield 3 though and Nani had a bit of a shocker on the left at the weekend. Possibility of Nani on the right, Park on the left and Valencia in midfield might be intriguing?

I suspect Neville will start ahead of Rafael by the way.

Wouldn't have a problem either way tbh, think Neville is more responsible and better positionally defensively and puts in a better cross whilst Rafael provides more pace at both ends of the pitch

Just worry about Nev up against Ronaldinho. He gave Rafael a hard time, but he stuck to it and his pace of recovery made a hell of a difference when he was struggling. Not sure Neville has that recovery any more and he might just stand off, giving him too much space.

I think Nev would use his experience and be fine against Ronaldinho, he also adds a real threat further forward with his crossing. I still think Rafael gets caught out defensively more than any of our other fullbacks, he's a fantastic prospect mind.

Fair enough, agree about Nev in the final third, his crossing from deep is terrific and he backs up the winger very intelligently.

So it is kind of an either or with him and Rafael for me, both have their plusses and negatives.
