I know it’s a rule that you have to ignore who the next manager might be in this poll but I can’t see how you can make a judgement unless you have a reasonable idea who’s coming in. If it’s the G thang (Gareth and Graham) then I’m Erik in but if it’s nagels whatever he’s called then I could be easily persuaded. The Brighton manager is tempting tbh - and for all the %@#$&!s about it being a step up, it’s clear that the step up for Erik and from the Dutch league was too much
But I’d far prefer Erik to turn it around and for me, he only has to improve a smidge - I don’t expect trophies or top 4 necessarily but there has to be some coherency and some ability to change the current situation. To have managed the club through every game this season and see the chaos develop it’s unforgivable to be in the same or a worse position so close to the end of the season. To be undone so easily so often, to invite the worst teams in this league to dominate us and rain down on our goal is £#%&!ing insane. To continue to set up in the same way and pick players like Rashford shows he’s probably not up to it. I would love nothing more than to be sat here in a years time saying how mad we all were for wanting him to be replaced. Not sure Ineos will think like that though…. |

If I got hit by a train the day of the league cup final and woke up today and someone told us how our season had gone I'd probably slip into medical shock. Completely expected a steep upward curve. A fit Martinez all season and either greenwood or a proper signing to replace him and still think we would have tbf.

Everyone loving parlabane’s post but do you think the manager could have perhaps done a bit more? When this root and branch review takes place is it going to ignore the way he’s set the team up, the players he selects, the subs he makes, the transfers he’s signed off on? All the issues I have with ten hag are more or less within his control.
Anyway, going to be a hell of a review if marginal gains is doing it. ‘First question Erik and be honest with us….have you had a lobotomy?’ |

Definitely. His in game management can be baffling. I just think he has faced some unprecedented problems (greenwood and sancho) and has had horrendous luck with injuries and players belming at the worst time. |

What are all the ‘give him a season with the new structure’ lads expecting? Most of what INEOS are proposing is related to improving things in the medium term for the club, whether it’s ETH or someone else next year I don’t see how the new structure in place will help in the short term
