Saw him admitting on the Sunday Supplement how he, more than most, had learnt a lesson in writing Fergie off. I guessed he was referring to this book.

Looks like he didn't learn after all.

Emily's son - should have stuck to being famous for that.
I didn't think it was a character assassination. There were some good stories and we know Ferguson isn't a saint but the language he used to describe the two was hilarious.
It was as though all the Shankly chapters were portrayed as happy, and bright and fluffy clouds everywhere. Then when you turned onto a Fergie chapter, the rainclouds came over, lightning came and the wind howled.

When he mentioned Shankly swearing, it was 'oh, that loveable Shanks', but he used Ferguson's foul mouth as a symbol of broken Britain

If you can look past that and not have you thoughts coloured too much by it, it's a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Think I've mentioned before, but Oliver Holt and a couple of other hacks were in the same restaurant as our lot after the 3-2 win at San Siro last season. He was pretty decent tbh, even though I was giving him stick for his numerous 'End of the Empire' pieces over the years.

I was rather disappointed he wasn't a total @#%&! actually

I couldn't finish it either. He started getting into a fantasy world where saf would give a £#%&! what he thought. I suppose at least he didn't cast himself as cartman or something equally forced.
