They picked this as the best goal

Wasn't even the best goal that game.

Vieira was picked as best signing.

Completely agree, the most overrated of the Premier league era. I just had no fear of him whatsoever.

In fairness, Zola had already turned 30 before he signed for the rent boys

That whole team is weird. Jones the stand out, but neither of Rio or Terry? Loved Stam, but he was not as good as Rio and not sure better than Vidic or Sol Campbell even. Have to pick one of Keane or Vieria and if you choose Eric as the best player of the 25 years of the PL then it looks a little odd when he is not in the team of that era. Oh and keeper, Schmeichel may not be the instant pick of years past, maybe Cech is the longevity choice.

Schmeichel
Irwin
Rio
Terry
Cole
Keane
Scholes
Gerrard/Lampard
Ronaldo
Shearer
Henry

Rob Jones is a truly amazing pick

You could argue the toss over the others, but could make a strong case for All, but not even livepools fans would pick him.

It's obviously Gary Neville, but Lee Dixon and Branislav Ivanovic would be ahead of Rob Jones.

Leaving one of Henry, Cantona and Shearer is the toughest choice there imo.

Quote:
On 28 September 1991 the 19-year-old Jones played at right-back for Crewe against Gillingham in the Fourth Division. The following weekend he started for Liverpool against Manchester United in a televised game at Old Trafford, marking Ryan Giggs. Four months later he started his first match for England. His rise was rocket propelled and his performances stellar. Over the following seasons Giggs and David Ginola picked him out as the Premier League’s finest defender; he was remarkably assured and outstanding in all aspects of the game (except shooting). Virtually ever-present for Liverpool in the first four Premier League seasons, his body then started to let him down. By the age of 28 he had retired.
Just

Not been many great right backs in the PL have there?. Neville, Dixon, Coleman, Fox Mulder, Lauren, Glen bloody Johnson? Neville was good, especially late in his career when he developed his attacking and was excellent on the overlap, but world class? Not for me.

Picked Irwin because he was probably the best LB and RB of his era in England.
