Yep, a lot of optimism based on that pre- season, thinking he was going to play great football, therefore bin off anti footballers and also be a strong enough personality to drop Rooney.

Instead Fellaini came to the fore, Rooney became captain and he purchased much of the shite we have now

Except that he said he was £#%&!ing off after we lost to Everton. We hadn't even sacked Moyes yet.

His agent was working all summer whoring him around and finally got a bite at the last minute.
