Default Jamie Jackson

I cannot reccomend his substack highly enough. I thought being the worst journalist on the United beat would be a crowning achievement for the lad but it seems he can add being the worst poet in recorded history to the cv. If ChatGPT were to come up with a parody of a middle-aged bloke who tries his hand at writing despite no discernbile or even undiscernible talent then it could do worse than clone this lad.

this is what death will be

lying down

window open

summer

the choruses of birds

far off madrigals

finally hearing the world

beyond the world

then

another

silence.

goodbye.

it's genuinely baffling to me that he is able to make a living writing about football despite knowing nothing about writing or football

What is that pose he’s doing? Is that what passes for “cool” in the eyes of someone having a mid life crisis?

That could well be the worst collection of words on a page I've ever encountered. Cocaine is one hell of a drug.

It's absolutely terrible. Will probably get a trendy award soon.

Looks like that weird @#%&! on Twitter/Tik Tok who does videos of himself crying at things that haven't happened.

I read a paragraph of that book he wrote under his pseudonym “Jamie paradise”. Absolute indecipherable waffle.

Night time cool the book’s called.

Just providing a snippet here but his writing is nothing if not consistent

PART 2: 'Two-brain' Joey Miller goes to the Lancaster-Morecambe borderlands to collect his supply of Es to punt out at the local pubs and boogie-woogie palaces and makes a discovery.

Joey pointed his Fiat 127 at Gerard Toces’ trailer.
Joey Miller in a lilac Marco O Polo tee, Classic Nouveau jeans, desert-coloured Clarkes. The look pronounced; the number of flying ones he gave numbering zero. He schooled up on Paninaro style: the Italian girls and boys who wore Stone Island, C.P. Company, deck shoes and suck-on-this shades. Joey had his own take, as he did with everything. He wore his hair long, admired himself in the mirror.

Why not? He knew what the lovely Nancy Kools called him on the sly: ‘Too-vain’. So? Everyone was vain – too much or not enough; vanity was the ultimate driving force, right? He understood this a long time ago.

He finished off the look with a pair of deal-with-it Ray-Ban aviators. He was a Lancaster Tom Cruise – Risky Business not cocktail. The Paninaro kids would approve; he never took the glasses off, in winter when it froze and in summer when it was hot, hitting the high 20s as did again today.

He was here on business.
