The media used to be all over him, IIRC ? I hope he was well prepared for the abu c***s when he came to us.
He's not manager of London's poster club anymore...

Wait. Of the London Based Poster Club anymore...

Three losses, yeah, but I think only we could prompt a subsequent article specifically outlining fixtures and then vaguely pointing out that losing is bad and losing more would be worse

here's a stat: if city win on saturday (probable) and united lose (possible) they will be 9pts ahead of us - 7 games.

It's not a stat if it hasn't happened yet.

Anyway, this is a marathon of multiple seasons not a 7 game sprint ffs.

Football fans have gone mad

Einstein knew about gravity... Unfortunately the biggest lump on the pitch cannot attract anything that sticks and what he propels tends to go out of play

if the condition is met then it will be a stat - that part was obvs.

the fact that it would only be 7 games is the context, and very £#%&!ing scary it is

here's another fact that isn't a fact: as every football fan knows, you cannot win the league before winter, but you can lose it.

Makes some reasonable points tbf. I can't imagine too many people aren't slightly concerned with the current Mourinho.

If it all blows over then great, but he doesn't look the Mourinho of old and, as Wilson points out, having the genius of Fergie around these parts has somewhat clouded the reality that most managers don't just dominate the game for twenty years.

Wouldn't mind an article or two on the shambolic way the club is run, but I suppose they wouldn't want to upset their mate Woody

Which is all very well but they're blowing voluminious quantities of smoke up the arses of the noisy neighbours and the vile vile vermin, neither of whom are from That London either.

what we should do is work out in advance who our manager is going to be down the line. then put in place as much of the structure he requires as we can over a period of years so that everything is in place by the time we get our man.

Yeah, but that stands to reason as it's a way to get at United.

Do get the feeling that the press have been waiting to have a proper go at Mourinho, and now the opportunity has finally arrived it's going to be brutal.

so i take it mourinho has been getting a bad press?

normally i would say who gives a £#%&!? but i can tell people do, and mourinho definitely does...

gonna be interesting to see how it pans out for him if we do get into a proper crisis. this last week has been nowhere near that level - basically a predictable defeat in a tricky euro plate game thursday night followed by a bit of a shambles in a mid-day sunday kick-off is barely even newsworthy as an occurrence, let's face it. getting humiliated 1st half at home to city on the other hand... if that happened again in the LC it really would put a rocket up mourinho's arse...

4 defeats on the spin in October could make for interesting press conferences..

Was one of the reasons I didn't want him. Just feels like the magic has gone a bit.

It was an open discussion on here from his time at Madrid, something has gone, a broken man etc. Seemed to be all dismissed the second there was a chance he was coming to OT for some reason this despite his implosion at Chelsea last season.

Not many managers are successful consistently for as long as he has been and beyond, he's got a big task on his hands re-inventing himself as successful with his new demeanour and in a situation he has never been in before with the current state of United. Easily his greatest challenge... Feels like he has approached it a bit softly-softly so far, last week or 2 excepted. Might well be a rough ride over the course of this season that could go either way. I'm actually expecting some movement in the market in Jan as he ditches a few and adds some more of his own players..
