Well you do have to be better at dealing with modern players. This isn't 1985 anymore. But last season the players apparently didn't like having their performances assessed in front of their teammates, so a dressing down is a risky move so early on.

Really it will come down to whether they think he's in control or not. Players and managers exchange %@#$&!ings all the time. As mentioned they even did it with Fergie. Whether they come out of it respecting his motives and approach is always the issue.

Also, who's grassing to the press already?

This is why he's scared to drop him.

Should just be done with it and rename the club Rooney United.

Schweinsteiger??
..one of the lads who isn't getting a game right now??

oh no, of course it's Rooney! who else?
Let's turn another thread into a multi pager where grown men (literally grown up adult men) who apparently support Man United get into a kind of hysterical lather over how much they hate one of our players

It's £#%&!ing nuts

These @#%&!s need the fear being put back into them. We're gonna turn into Real Madrid/Chelsea style old boys club otherwise.

Nothing wrong with a bit of hairdryer treatment, the players are lackadaisical, lazy, casual.

They're much better than they're showing and not working hard enough.

Obviously the players seeing Rooney get away with shit every week means they don't need to try either, and no captain figure %@#$&!ing them helps them slack. Rooney can't captain anyone when he's the worst player.

It'll be someone who was in the dressing room. Whatever it is should shut the £#%&! up and concentrate on improving their own performances imo.

Also Rooney slated Schweini to the press back in May.

Tbf I did notice the first wave of insider slagging last season came at the exact time Rooney broke Charlton's England record and would have been surrounded by the hacks. Could be a coincidence. Not many candidates tbh but there's deffo a verified rat or two.

I've slagged Rooney as much as anyone but I agree with you here. What possible reason would Rooney have to do anything like this at this point in time?
