The man who started United on the path to what they are today passed away. R.I.P. Matt Busby.

The bit where Shankley says that many people went to Sir Matt for advice ...... that sound familiar?
Of course, it doesn't recieve anywhere near the coverage in the press that it should, but we've all read stories of lower league managers phoning Sir Alex & him going out of his way to offer them advice.

1 tradition that I hope never ends at United.

Isn't that CORRUPTION?

Liverpool director on phone to Shankly while still at Huddersfield: "How would you like to manage the best football club in the world?"
Shankly: "Matt Busby's retiring?"
