I'm surprised he is going to Spurs TBH after saying a few months ago that a move to Everton was 'too close to home' as a United fan. Spurs is hardly on a different planet is it??

I think it is much for the marketing opportunities than his influence on the pitch because I think the combination of his age and the serious injury he has suffered means he is nowere near as effective as he was even a few years ago.

Has he definitely signed for them then?

Shame really. Could handle him playing against us for Milan, but another English club is a bit far. Though at least it's not the verm or the berties.

Just isn't right

Obviously not on a par with Scholes lining up for Citeh etc etc
Yeah, there's an element of that too. Think him and Spurs are a good fit, and I wouldn't begrudge him a move there.

Maybe it's because he's a Londoner?

Redknapp wants him around to set an example to the younger players.

Rather than loan him, why not have him train with the squad to continue his fitness for the MLS season?

He only gives a shit about himself, all this "top red" bullshit is a nice PR exercise, he stopped giving a shit about United the day he £#%&!ed Fergie around the man who helped him after all the WC backlash.

Yeah, but he's about 35 now, at his peak I'd have agreed but now, £#%&! it.

Anyway, imagine him bending a trademark FK into the top corner against Citeh

By the 16th?

Probably won't happen.

Meanwhile:

Tottenham Supporters' Trust chairman Bernie Kingsley told BBC Sport on Monday that he felt it would be "dreadful" if Beckham moved to White Hart Lane, while stressing this was his personal opinion and not representative.

Quote:
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp hopes that former England captain David Beckham will have joined Spurs on a short-term loan deal by Sunday.

The White Hart Lane club have been speaking to LA Galaxy midfielder Beckham, 35, whose American club are understood to be open to his move.

"It will probably get done," said Redknapp. "The clubs are talking and there's a good chance it will happen."

Beckham's first match could be against his former club Manchester United.

a genuine world class player at spurs eh, who'd have thought it

no doubt he'll show them all up in training and shatter their confidence for the run-in

looking forward to seeing Beckham, Giggs and Scholes in the Olympic team next year btw

is OT one of the football venues?

Loved Becks as a player but the Milan game last year showed his influence rapidly waning and the injury won't have helped. He's long gone at United, as someone said, it's not like Giggs or Scholes playing against us. Funnily enough, I think the Beckham circus could help us in that game as all the attention will be on them, not us.

I'd be more gutted if Ronnie came back with Madrid. He'd be super determined to score a few against us.
