I don't think Wenger has the bottle to pay big money for a player because he isn't that great at picking up established players. He would also find it a lot harder to control a dressing room full of "men" rather than "boys".

I still don't buy into this theory that he's working on a shoestring budget each year. He's clearly not. Also look at the amount of youngsters he's letting go each season, he's had about 40 players leave in the last 5 seasons.

They pay pretty big wages too don't they? Maybe not United big (certainly not citeh big) but much, much more than Bolton or Sunderland would.

I read somewhere that other than Chelsea and City, they are the only debt free club in the premiership.
