No. Pea was good at what he did, but he'd have been next to useless with this setup. And really, anyone can score goals for fun in Germany (Diouf ffs?) and aside from knowing where the net was - which is only useful if you create a lot (we don't) - he was a bit rubbish really.

We've arguably 'missed' welbeck more than pea, which says a lot.

No, but not getting another striker in was criminal. To put so much reliance on a clearly fading Rooney and a young lad new to the league was mental. Classic van gaal

Us having a competent striker hasn't been the issue at all this seasons. Playing negative, possession football with a pretty mediocre squad has been the problem. We could have signed Aguero or Battistuts and we'd still be fighting for fourth.

Chicharito was never good enough for United to start with. Just because he won league titles doesn't change that fact. He is a limited player, only good enough to play for counter-attacking styles, a style from which we are trying to move away.

People compare him with Solskjaer, but that's a real insult to Ole. Ole had so much more to his game, dribbling skills, better finishing capability, eye for a pass. Chicharito never had all these attributes.

Welbeck would do well in this side. When fit I think he's been good for arsenal.
