So, we're exactly a week away from the Charity Shield, and it's looking like there'll be no new signings before then. Great. Anyway, we still need to win this game, not only for the sake of winning it, but also to silence any immediate doubt that will be directed at us from the media. Quite a crucial game, really, in terms of the precedent it could set.

Suggestions for the team? (Also, anyone know if Rafael is banned for it?)

Definitely agree with Nani on the right, and the Ando/Carrick pairing. Wouldn't be surprised if Rooney made the squad, tbh. Actions speak louder than words.

I suppose the best option we have midfield-wise is a classic pivot of Carrick and Cleverley. £#%&! me, that is truly depressing. :shakehead:

Would love to see Giggs roll back the years on the left wing though.

Almost exactly the same. Think Welbeck will get the nod over Zaha, but would be nice to see either.

Guess we'll know after the rio testimonial and friendly in stockholm. Suspect we'll see varela and see how really thick, solid and tight big wazza has become over the summer.
