Who will break into the first team squad next?

Rafael, Macheda, Fabio, Gibson, etc etc, all came up from the reserves/youth to the first team and are now either regularly on the bench or playing in the first team.

From the current crop of the reserves, who will be that player who steps up? I don't mean jumps straight into the First XI, i just mean starts getting regular sub opportunities and mixing it with the first team squad.

welbeck will be a fixture in the first team squad next year. matty james as well. eikrem will be out on loan before he breaks through.

You would expect Cleverley to be there as well. Drinkwater is another that might need to go on loan to a premier league team before we can be sure how good he is, Cardiff have really been missing him from what I can see though.

yeah, cleverley is quality, stands out a mile. drinkwater is an interesting one, plenty of talent there, it will be interesting to see what happens.

king looks to be developing very fast as well, both he and james have made a big impression at preston.

What's happened to the lad we nicked from Roma, it was reckoned he was nearly first team standard when we stole him but he doesn't even seem to have been good enough to fob off on loan yet.

Macheda will be a first team regular for Roma next season.

rafael should be first choice RB from now on. Macheda's gonna be a top player for us within 18 months.

I still remain unsure about Macheda but the one thing I do like about him is that he is quite clearly a @#%&!. And a big one too, he'll wind you up and boot you in the shins.
