or when they lost 2-1 in a vital game maybe, after taking the lead only through their forward's hand.

It's the same every year. Morons get all aroused by the young lads slapping some shite div 2 team around and they go on to be knocked out later.

These kids never won anything. Their best teams had Henry, Vieira, Campbell, Cole, Pires, Lungburg. Hardly youth players.

A club of bottlers aswel. One defeat sets off a domino effect.

They don't have a pot to piss in but Wenger craps on about his 'youth policy' bearing fruit to make it all look like part of the plan. It isn't, it's just the cost of a new ground absolutely £#%&!ed them....they all know this but prefer to put their trust in Arsene so to speak. Only now are the fans starting to lose faith because they can see these high class youngsters doing £#%&! all long-term.

If SAF had left United we might be seeing something similar developing at OT, but for now he keep being allocated funds....mainly due to the fact the Galzer's are terrified of upsetting him as far as I can tell.

The Frenchman railed, not for the first time, against what he perceives to be the vulgar spending of the other top clubs in England, as he made the boast that Arsenal were the only club among Europe's elite who "educate" their own players rather than sign them as fully fledged superstars for eye-watering fees.

He name-checked the five players that he feels represent Arsenal's future – the midfielders Cesc Fábregas, Abou Diaby and Denilson, as well as the wingers Theo Walcott and Samir Nasri. Diaby is 22 years old, Walcott 19 and the others 21.

Wenger overlooked the fact that all of them have been bought from other clubs at a combined cost of some £23m, whereas United's fabled youngsters of the previous decade were homegrown and, as such, cost nothing. David Beckham apart, they all hailed from the Greater Manchester area. However in Wenger's mind everything is relative, particularly the outlay of £23m in the excessive world of *21st‑century football, and he suggested that the biggest challenge he faces is to keep his squad together.

It was put to Wenger that United, for example, also had some promising young players. "Nani and Anderson?" he scoffed, of the midfielders who each cost around £18m. "The two young Brazilians [the Da Silva twins] do not play in the Champions League," he continued. "You look [at the Champions League last 16 line-ups] and see how many players [have been] *educated at our club and then take all the players from the other Champions League teams and tell me how many have been educated at those clubs.

"United do what they want and do it well and I do not criticise. But I just say that number-wise, we are the only club that has gone for a different policy because we wanted to build our stadium and get this team to maturity."

Wenger, whose argument is undermined slightly by his £15m capture of the Russia midfielder Andrei Arshavin, has completely overhauled his squad in recent years.

Shall we talk youngsters playing in the champions league then...

Neville X 2
Giggs
Butt
Scholes
Beckham
Fletcher
O'Shea
Brown
Evans

And they cost us not one penny between them.

I don't think Wenger even manages to convince himself half the time.

great free kick that. arsenal are overhyped shite and wenger is coming out with these crazy utterings much more in the last few years to mask the fact that he is feeling the pressure.

They had no chance of a real challenge last season after all. Weak, both squad and players.

Riiight. And where did Arsenal finish in the league? This side that handed us the title thought our luck and their misfortune? I assume they were runners up or were other teams lucky too?

Right, im confused as he seems to be saying our youngsters are not quite the same thing as his cos we bought the da Silvas and Nani n Anderson, but all those players listed above were also bought for varying amounts of money, very few started as school boys at arsenal like Evans (n Giggs n Scholes n Neville etc).

They have one world class kid and he is 22. The rest of them are mainly mediocre, a couple promising and a lot pretty shite.

None in fact. None that were mentioned anyway. There's one or two that might make it but that's it. Sounds like a desperate man to me.
