Thumbs down

the rumour suggesting that Sneijder is close to a move to Manchester United is without foundation: the Dutch international is on the verge of agreeing a five year deal with Inter Milan.

Real Madrid have received no offers for the Dutch winger from Manchester United

Here's what Balague said on 12th May. What the £#%&! does he know?

That @#%&! presenter giving it the old 'Well we dont want to offend or disrespect Manchester United, but its obvious Ronaldo wants to go. At what point do United say "just leave?". Balague also points out that United have agreed to sign Valencia for £22m () as further proof.

the Kaka signing was common knowledge

It was also common knowledge that if they could convince United to sell then Ronaldo would move to Real

Alonso had also made noises in that direction, echoed in Spain, since the Barry farce last summer

And the Valencia deal was common knowledge

So in short Ballague offered absolutely zero inside information on any of those deals, as indicated by the fact that he got the value and priority of all four pieces of business wrong by the looks of that

No one thought they would get Ronaldo and Kaka. One or the other maybe but not both. There are plenty of common knowledge transfers that don't come off. I'm still waiting for Shearer to be unveiled.

Where the hell would Robben fit into our team? Nani is our new left winger.

er? by may 12th? they were £#%&!ing minted by then weren't they? can't recall exactly but there was talk of huge "investment" around the time they got done by the vermin iirc

the common knowledge bit is fairly true I suppose, but the examples of Shearer and Valencia are pretty daft bearing in mind those deals were talked about openly by the respective chairmen, Walker and Whelan. i don't count stories rattling around the media as common knowledge unless they're backed up by trustworthy mouthpieces. so Whelan (friend of United and English football) saying Valencia will go to United if the price is right pretty much guarantees exactly that.

he would fit in when we want to play an utterly one-dimensional no tricks midfield: robben - fletch - park - valencia. what a cure for insomnia. rooney would go to real if that happened.
