he's pissed at Madrid for the way they went about it and £#%&!ed it all up, no blame at United. When it didnt happen, he pushed for it to be smoothed over, get his down and get back in the team.

Instead, you're saying they decided to come up with a grand plan of failing to fax certain bits of paper and then blaming it all on United

If they had the choice, option 1 makes far more sense.
Fax.

Clubs don't fax anymore ffs.

Strange how only one of the Mcr lads ran with that story.

Looks to be the case but United all along said they wanted the world record fee for the keeper and that would be less than what Juve paid for Buffon.

He's said to be pissed off with Madrid over it all, who knows maybe he might £#%&! them around next summer?

navas will do well for them....they wont want degea or to deal with us next season.

unless barca/atletico pay it, i can see him having to stay.

Ifffff there is a clause, it would be for clubs outside of the uk only.

Don't see Madrid parting with north of £30m for a goalkeeper tbh.

Clause is hearsay.

Wanted to leave. Actually, wanted to join Madrid. Not desperate to leave as such.

You think Madrid will fancy paying double what they were getting him for this summer next year? they didn't want to pay the poxy few agreed on the last day ffs

Think it was done in the contract he signed January before he left.

As for Madrid, them not getting him this summer just makes them want him more.

Even if he goes, we have still done very well out of this. We still get 30m next year, we get one more year of a world class GK.

And if he goes, it is more likely it will be done in june rather than in August. So we will be able to get a good replacement for him.

The strong likelihood at this stage is that he will be gone IMO. A good season followed by an excellent Euros will mean Madrid will drop big money on him, and I doubt the pathetic sap's homesickness will be eased with the new contract we've given him.

Lots of things can change though, and much will depend on how well we do, how badly Madrid do, and whether he stays with that talentless karaoke singer.

The only certainty is that next summer will be just as much a painful, tedious circus as this one has been when it comes to this @#%&!.

We will be in box seat thoe, having him on a 4 year contract makes a huge difference.
