To be fair he was their first choice & then got a long term injury, whilst out he made noises about wanting to either move or get more money etc - didn't sit well with Pochettino & was somewhat ostracised. I think he's somewhat underrated if anything, he came on huge amount in the last couple of seasons. I'd have preferred to get him a year or two ago, the whole Shaw thing has been a catastrophe & I'm almost certain that he'll go in the opposite direction (& typically absolutely boss it when he starts playing games under someone who loves him). But Rose will be excellent for us if he does arrive.

Yeah he did come on massively pre-injury. Only raising the point because £40-£50m a year ago might have looked a go-er but not for someone who has only about 20 appearances in 12 months. Shaw has also lost his standing after injury but at least he has youth on his side.
