I respect every man's right to die in the way they see fit.

Everyone's got to go sometime. I'd rather he went like Stein than Clough. I think he would too.

And you think Fergie wants to joss it Jock style?

No-one as far as i'm aware is suggesting Fregson be sacked. That's mental and clearly not going to happen.

If he goes he retires. So what then?

There is simply no comparison between where Clough was at the end of his tenure and where Ferguson is now. I understand the agenda you are are trying to press Sparkles, but you can do better than that.

Or maybe he wouldn't want to have a heart attack on the touchline or turn into a booze-addled mentalist?

There's more than these two outcomes tbf.

Nothing lasts forever, i'd rather ferguson went out with United in a position of strength. Maybe even a trophy. His last gift to us and then he takes up his rightful place as overlord.

I don't understand. If he retires, he retires, but are you trying to suggest that there isn't a group on here, or in United's support in general who don't wish to see him gone?

True. I'm thinking more about how he'd rather leave us though, in a blaze of glory or with it all falling down around his ears.

I don't want him to die horribly, Christ no

The only reason this is an issue is the signs re Freggles's retirement this season.

No-one as far as i'm aware is calling for him to be fired.

The only issue then is whether the retirement is a potential positive or a doom-laden negative.

Christ knows pal. He's 71 though. No-one could begrudge him a decent retirement.

Well if the criteria is people actually saying the words "I want Fergie fired" then there's probably not many, but how many have indicated they would like him "gone" over the past three months? I could trawl for quotes but I'd rather we just accept it as read.

No, and I certainly wouldn't, but the post was aimed at those who actually want it. We should hope he doesn't.
