looks like we're going after a sub-10mil striker.

should have a look at:

anelka, saviola, mccarthy and doyle(if he's cheap)

Anelka would be my first choice from the cheap strikers available. It's a shame we can't go and get Torres or Eto'o though.

Anelka has always been someone that i hope / think we could see the best of.

used right and in a pacy team which we have he could be lethal, he looked fookin unplayable when Arse used to attack with pace, but that is nigh on 10 years ago and he has sulked his way around europe since.

I certainly wouldn't be disapointed if we signed him, how things would pan out i don't know.

Him and his brother may be problem children, and by all accounts Anelka can be a bit of a helmet at times.

But if you've got £10M to spare and need a striker, he's just about the best one you could get. He has it all and when he puts his head into gear he's a very decent player.

If SAF could straighten him out, and if Anelka himself was prepared to work hard and give his best, - then he could be a good addition to the squad.

Eric was a much more difficult player to deal with before he came to us, than Anelka will ever be.

Anelkas proven in the Premiership, they're not.

If we can get him for under £10 million it would be a brilliant bit of business.

I think Eto'o would be very well suited to the premiership. He has pace, strength and is good in the air. Dream signing.

And I'll say it again, Eto'o is overrated. Very suited to Barca's style, his workrate isn't great, and his head can drop a bit easily for my liking. Good, but not as good as some people think on here.

A lot of people are making out as if right back has to be sorted out this summer. I think it can definitely wait a season. Neville is still playing very well when he's not injured (hopefully he's just been unlucky with injuries) and we have plenty of cover for the position.

RB and LB are the two most important positions on the pitch with our style of play. If we play with static traditional defenders (Heinze, Brown etc...) we play shit. Ronaldo and Giggs need a man flanking them so that they have enough support to suprise the defenders. Without a more attack minded full back Ronaldo gets doubled up on and tends to become stifled (Milan, cup final etc...)

When Evra and Neville play we're a different team. Ronaldo shines and we look unstoppable. Getting a good RB to me is more important than a new striker this season. Between Giggs, Ronaldo, Smith, Rooney, Rossi, Ole and Anderson we have enough people who can do a job up there.

i can only assume you're wumming. he's generally acknowledged as the best striker in the world by rather more than 'some people on here'. virtually every coach in football recognises that the guy is outstanding. he was superb at mallorca, he is superb at barca, he is superb for the ivory coast and he has always been a big game player.

He's good but he's not the best in the world. Drogba is twice the player he is.

Anelka has the ability to be one of the best strikers in the world. He's quick, powerful and his early powerful shots are always accurate which results in a lot of goals like that.

He would be easy to sign if we wanted him.
