Probably wouldn't be cutting the PL to 18 clubs if that was a serious aim tbf.

I would think that should be the backup proposal as ever since the money clubs appeared in both chelski and man city I think they have won majority of EFL cups. so it would be good move to have it only open to clubs that are generally not in europe.

Premier League clubs will be allowed to have 15 players out on loan and up to 5 at the same club. It's about neutering the EFL and anyone who trusts Rick Parry, John Henry and Joel Glazer to decide the governance and future of the English game is either brain-dead or a chancer that stands to gain some easy money.

Just as well that the FA have a stringent vetting process for club owners to protect the long-term interests of the sport

Bingo.

People think it's gallows humour when I keep saying the game is dead. It was bad pre covid; there's going to be barely anything for the fans return to post. If this happens in any form it's another widening of the gap.

True. They’re doing it in our name too.

Funny thing is, you’d expect a big six vs the rest thing, and that’s how it’s being presented, but this is actually also a Utd/Liverpool and possibly Arsenal vs the rest of the big six thing too. City getting games on their own channel. We probably have more people logged on here. And I can see them voting for more stringent FFP too. They’ve over reached here.

exactly. this 25% of the collective tv deal they're offering the efl will be worth £#%&! all once they have individual rights.

Just as your roast dinner would be pretty dull if it was just meat, there's no point being the top dog if you have no one else to play games against. The league needs ALL the teams in it, even the ones who aren't Manchester United, so there is a pile to be on top of.

If you only want to see the elite teams successful then pin your colours to the european super league mast.

EFL Cup only for non-european sides would be a good idea, especially if it kept a UEFA cup place for the winners. That way you've always got at least one team in europe from each country that wasn't in it last year.

The wealth in football, as in society in general, needs to be more evenly distributed, not concentrated amongst those that already have it.

Simple.
Don't scrap it, make it two-touch.

Correct, which is always the way things were going to go. Imagine what Mutv would be worth if the channel had exclusive games; and with the voting change you think that 8 is not going to become 10, 12 and so on? I don’t think it’ll happen though. The ‘big six’ are probably not in lock step as much as people think.

City and Chelsea know they have much more financial clout long term so long as FFP can be greased; the opposite of what the yank owners want. These people have become very used to salary caps and spending restrictions. Billionaire owners who don’t mind a bit of socialism when it suits them.
