Default Rooney captain for tomorrow

According to the ffishal site...

Probably needs one more game for sharpness and then he'll be ready for Sunday.

Fergie warning the youngsters not to £#%&! up like the Coventry game too. Don't even recognise some of those names to be honest. But it looks like Anderson has already been elevated to the status of "must be preserved for the big games".

Wayne Rooney will captain United in the Champions league clash with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night.

Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson has taken a young squad to Roma for the meaningless final Group F match.

Wes Brown and Michael Carrick are the only other players besides Rooney who started against Derby County on Saturday.

Rooney has been handed the captaincy, after much persistence from the 22-year-old.

"He has been pestering me for quite a while now, so I have given in," said Sir Alex.

United from: Kuszczak, Heaton, Brown, Eckersley, O'Shea, Pique, Evans, Simpson, Lee, Chester, Cleverley, Hewson, Nani, Eagles, Carrick, Fletcher, Dong, Brandy, Saha, Rooney.

He represents everything that is wrong with modern football.

And I don't mean that as an insult to him personally.

He'd be more insulted if you told him his Chicken with cashew nuts was bland.

Why the £#%&! is Rooney playing?

Watch him get injured now.

Huge risk from Sir Alex.

Oh and Roma will hump us, their squad is packed with all their big guns including Totti.

Well I wouldn't have risked Rooney either, but he has had a couple of months out this season so it's obviously all about sharpness & match practise....if he scores tomorrow he'll score at Anfield.

Can't you read?

Edit

heres their squad

I convocati per il Manchester: Doni, Bertagnoli, Tonetto, Ferrari, Antunes, Mexes, Juan, Cicinho, Panucci, Pizarro, Taddei, Giuly, De Rossi, Pit, Barusso, Totti, Vucinic, Esposito, Mancini, Zotti

Perrotta, Aquilani, Curci, Brighi, and Andreolli are injured.

Their squad is very strong and I dont see us getting anything tomorrow, all about damage limitation and praying Rooney doesnt get injured.

Our potential side is reasonably experienced -

Kuszazck

Simpson
Brown
Pique
O'Shea

Nani
Fletcher
Carrick
Eagles

Rooney
Saha

.....although it's extremely lightweight at the back...& very timid & 'wouldn't say boo to a goose' in midfield.

OK, it's only upfront where we look strong!...maybe we will get spanked after all!
