Ajax were pissed off as well. Can't be easy moving to a different country at that age. Give him time.

Looks great on youtube I agree that he probably just needs time to settle, plus he's very young.

Just reading the paper, Liverpool have a boy called raheem sterling who scored 5 in his last game for the youth side, and has been rewarded with an instant call up to the first team for tonight against Prague. He's 16.

This is a very good united side, no mentions yet for tom thorpe, who looks good at the back. Really powerful midfield with Pogba and Tunnicliffe, either of whom i would rather see play than Gibson on Saturday.

Weakest area is the goalkeeper, who's kicking looks iffy, and tends to flap.

Generally i agree about goalies coming through from the youth ranks, i think casillas did it at madrid, but hes probably the exception.

I think the point being made earlier was that the mature later, so its a big leap of faith to keep a keeper in the reserves for 6/7 years (or more) until he's ready, theyre better off going out on loan, or moving permanently. So a one-club keeper is a rarity.

Aye, that's true enough. Like you say, Casillas is a bit of an anomaly. Always liked him.

Remember the draw there in 2000? I wanted us to sign him then instead of Barthez.

We nearly managed it with Gary Walsh, looked very good before getting kicked in the head on a rather infamous overseas tour.
