Credit where credit is due that Jose knew how to kill off a game and not concede. Avram is about as tactically astute as Paul Jewell.

Agreed. If we get to the final, I'd be confident of us beating either chelsea or the murderers. We're far better then either of them

if they beat everton, it means liverpool can field a weakened side at the weekend because they'd have all but secured 4rd spot and be rested for their semi final

That's a good way of looking at it. For me, I'd be more worried if Chelsea were 20 points clear of us. They can't afford to get complacent and I can see them beating the scouse. The scouse are better in knock out competitions against big teams. When they expect to win, they don't.
