I think it's because both are quick, and are known for the finish while they are running into the area.

Ronaldo's a better all round player than Bale, but that's not to say Bale isn't great, because he is.

I don't see much of Beckham in him really.

Bale is a better striker of the ball from distance, I'd say. More variation in the way he hits it. Ronaldo generally blasts through the ball when facing goal and afforded space. Bale can do that, but is more capable of placing shots, hitting it side-to-goal, on the volley etc.

When you look at the damage he continues to do even when everyone knows he's Spurs' main threat, I can only imagine what Bale would be like around better players. I'd be really surprised if we're not in for him this summer #£#%&!themidfield

Ronaldo takes an obscene amount of shots per game. The stats are crazy. Across Europe, his shots per game ratio is usually miles ahead of everyone else. There was a Liga game a couple of months ago where he had about 15 attempts on goal Two years ago I think he had something like 40% more attempts on goal than Messi across the season. But his shots/goals ratio is fairly low.

But it wasn't a criticism of Ronaldo. More that Bale's hit several great goals from outside the box over the last year. I think he shades it.

All we've uncovered so far is that 'hit and hope' Ronnie isn't as deadly as RvP, Messi, Radz, Big Zlat, etc.
