Basically he's better than Young, maybe even twice as good

Is he worth breaking the transfer record for? Maybe, just about. £34m.

Some statement that pol.

I wouldn't mind him at United (although it's not going to happen) but the money touted at the moment is far too much, especially when Ronnie could be come available this summer.

If Young was 18m, and Bale is 2x better, then Bale is definitely worth at least £39m adjusting for inflation?

I reckon Spurs will sell, they've already got that ready-made lookalike replacement in their youth team

I think he's more dangerous from distance than Ronaldo. I'm sure he'll have a better FK conversion rate over the last couple of years. Ronaldo takes an obscene amount of free-kicks, but scores a low percentage of them. I believe 4/5 he takes don't even hit the target.

Bale is a better striker of the ball from distance, I'd say. More variation in the way he hits it. Ronaldo generally blasts through the ball when facing goal and afforded space. Bale can do that, but is more capable of placing shots, hitting it side-to-goal, on the volley etc.

When you look at the damage he continues to do even when everyone knows he's Spurs' main threat, I can only imagine what Bale would be like around better players. I'd be really surprised if we're not in for him this summer #£#%&!themidfield

If Bale came to United, he'd be a better signing than RVP. Discuss.

I think he's ace but I'd rather have Wilshere. Exactly the kind of midfielder we need and is also a complete and utter @#%&!. The kind who'd get away with snidey fouls all over the shop and have scraps in town over nothing.
