Scholes should take him to a tribunal

Why didn't Scholesy just say "I ain't signing no contract" just like his "I ain't getting on no coach"?

If he wanted to retire and had to be forced to sign a new contract, surely his heart won't be in it anymore?

Means we don't have to buy a midfielder this summer.

The club wouldn't want to do that, would they?

Yeah, he has really shown his "heart isn't in it" the last few games, hasn't he?? Bloody hell

Not my point.

But if you want to continue to believe that we should be relying on Scholes and that's fine then fair enough.

He still has a part to play, yes - am genuinely amazed anybody thinks otherwise tbh

Anyhow, Carrick will go this summer I reckon - so we will be getting new blood added to our midfield

The point being, he himself thought otherwise.

Getting £#%&!ing sick of people wanting Carrick out too. He'll still be here next season.

Yeah, and SAF talked him round - what's wrong with that??

Regarding Carrick, how much (or rather little) he has played since his Bayern £#%&!-up tells its own story imo........

I rather suspect Fergie made up his mind right then. He is also stubborn enough, imo, to give Berbatov another year in the hope he will finally "come good" - even though that will get the haters going

Talked him into earning another few million quid?

I'm not casting aspersions at Scholes, but when a player is ready to finish surely that should be it? If they play on past when they want to they are doing it for the wrong reasons?

As for Carrick, how little he has played has little to do with it, tbh. Fletcher didn't play for nearly 12 months, Park has disappeared almost completely since the Semi as well. It means nowt other than Fergie has picked the players in best condition and best suited to play the more recent games.

Berbatov will still be here next season too, imo.

Yeah OK, but that probably matters less to Scholes than just about any other player I can think of

I know, hence the casting aspersions at Scholes comment, I would hazard a guess that the money doesn't come into it, but still, it's a decent bargaining chip when having to talk someone into something.

I remember Shearer saying he retired because he didn't want to do the travelling and the getting up and training every day anymore, and I can well believe Scholes is getting to that stage now, if he really doesn't want to do it anymore and had decided to retire, he won't appreciate being talked into having to do it all over again.
