Football clubs have enslaved themselves to TV for vast sums of cash and just have to deal with it.

Busy schedules affect the successful clubs which is why the trebles been won just the once and we didn't half stagger over the line for that.
No problem with any of that - but they should still schedule games between champions league clubs at times to help those clubs - that doesn't affect them being shown on tv. Take yesterdays game - Liverpool were always going to have been affected by having to play extra time on Thursday night so again Chelsea had a distinct advantage - but no one could have anticipated that so fair enough on the scheduling.

The whole nation would explode in an ABU fury like we've never seen.
Not if the Premier League announced that they were going to schedule/move fixtures to try to help ALL clubs in Europe in future.
