Default Not winning the league this season.

Will probably be for the best in the long run.

We are a club that responds well to a challenge. Us being so utterly dominant over the last 3 years always runs the risk of complacency.

We need that challenge, we need another team to be there standing toe-to-toe with us. It brings the best out of our manager.

Sounds a bit scouse that tbf. This season would have given us the record of 4 on the bounce and enabled us to go clear of the murderers. We got beat at home in a must win game. I'm still mightily £#%&!ed off and at the moment, all the silver linings seem to be smeared in shit. Thanks for trying to pick us all up Sparkles but short of decapitating 'Stevie G' I don't think there's anything anyone can do to lift the gloom so soon.

I agree. Not winning the title this season will hopefully give us the hunger and desire to come back and win it next season. I've always said that you can tell a lot about a football team from how they respond to adversity.

Listen, lads, we've all got to pull together here, because at the end of the day we're all in the same boat.

Utter %@#$&!s. Winning 4 would be a record and taking it to 5 would be the next challenge. Get a grip FFS.

Wow.

This united team hasn't been good enough. Hopefully it will be a catalyst to inject new blood into a squad that needs it.

There's a reason why 4 in a row hasn't been done before, it's because it's £#%&!ing hard. Hard to maintain a squad of that quality for that period of time.

It's because we don't play in a mickey mouse league either.

win or lose the league, every season has it's own challenge. we will sign players wether we win it or not. their is no silver lining to losing the title.

losing the title means we wont win it 4 times in a row.
losing the title means fergie wont be unique.
losing the title means we wont get as much money.
losing the title means the scouse still have half a chance of getting to 19 before us.

there is no benefit in not winning the title.

Well, he's already the only manager ever to win three in a row once, let alone do it twice.

And to win the Treble.

And to write seventeen autobiographies (or whatever).

Sometimes you have to fail in order to succeed; lose in order to win; fall over in order to bounce back. Sometimes that's what football's all about.

It's not over yet. Wigan will put up more of a fight than Stevie G and his merry men did.
