Default 1986-2008 Your favourite Fergie 11

I know it's been done to death but since the season is over and I'm bored.

Schmeichel
G. Neville Ferdinand Vidic Irwin
Ronaldo Keane Scholes Giggs
Cantona Rooney

Subs:

Van Der Saar
Evra
Robson
Kanchelskis
Hughes
Cole

*Substitutes are subject to change as I can't make my mind up. Starting eleven are pretty much there.

Cantona/Rooney would play similar roles so hence my choice of Hughes and Cole on the bench.

I'd have a similar team to Mr Ed, but with Evra in for Irwin

I'd have Cole in the first eleven for his pace, Cantona/ Ronnie would create so many chances for him.

robson on the bench

keane was a great player but robbo - fit, of course - was untouchable.

still, opinions etc.

schmichel
neville - ferdinand - stam - irwin/evra (depends on who we're playing)
ronnie - scholes - robbo - giggs
cantona - cole

(seven) subs
vds
evra/irwin
vidic
keane
beckham (kanchelskis pushes him very close, but beckham offers something different and giggs is a better out and out winger than andrei)
rooney
solskjaer (got to have ole to come off the bench )

great player though rooney is, he's not done anything like enough yet to get a starting role ahead of andy cole imo.

even compared to 10-15 years ago todays footballers are fitter and stronger hence more recent players - especially at the back eg vidic/rio over palli and bruce.

i'll don the tin hat for leaving out cantona but i honestly believe ronaldo is more devestating.

the midfield is a no brainer - the 98/99 midfield is simply the best there has ever been for me, however robson was a more enhanced keane imo. ince was a more enhanced keane imo but that's for another day

anyone who doesn't put ruud up front is in denial. the most clinical 'striker' i have ever seen in my time

Our trophy cabinet would look a lot more empty without David Beckham.

Giggsy on the right, interesting! May 1999 springs to mind, but not a good idea imho

It really is a tough one to call, think one has got to choose between Robbo

and Keane, I like the look of starting 11, but then again in a minute

or two I'll probably change my mind, so many very good/world class players

to pick

I meant Giggs on the left. Well spotted that man.

Exactly mate, that team would sweep all before it, the quadruple would be a piece of piss with a subs bench that would include, scholes, beckham, evra, vidic sparky and rooney.

Now keeping all of them happy would be an impossibility.

Thats why i wouln't put Robbo in my eleven post 86 - too many injuries. He wasnt the player he was from 82-85 when he was magnificent.
