Default Ashley Young hit with violent conduct charge

3 match ban, misses Everton, Derby and Stoke.

Can't say i'm too bothered by this. He's clearly become a useful squad member but fact is he's playing out of position and it affects the balance of our football. Also hate his crosses when there's no Lukaku in the team. Or even when Lukaku is there. He just crosses too much.

He just crosses too much

He’s got the best final ball we’ve had since beckham, come on leaps and bounds in the last few years...
One of the first names on the team sheet now...

Seems to actually give a £#%&!...

Would sell him now while he's worth something.

How many assists does he have given he has the best final ball since Beckham? Not many. So since you'll blame our attackers: How many times have you seen him cross and you thought "oooh, we should score there"?
Rarely.

He's part of the underachieving issue at the club. Players with weak mentalities and playing out of position.

Chris Foy made Damn sure nobody missed this on BT last night

Came across as proper @#%&! aswell. Scholes suggesting it was 'arm to ball' on the penalty appeal. Foy just ignored the point, repeated that he thought it wasn't a pen and that all the other refs would agree with him.

No wonder players get frustrated.

Appeal so he can play tomorrow? Otherwise it's Lindelof at right back. Or Darmian

He really is.

Can't do anything for you if you can't see it.

At least this recent slump can't be blamed on him. Hilarious how quickly he is attacked whenever we have a bad result and he's on the pitch. Talk about soft target. He was putting in 8/10 displays weekly in the latter stages of the europa league last season.....

Ashley Young has been our best and most consistent player of the last 6 weeks along with Jesse Lingard.

Would we be saying that about Darmian?

There's a reason your boy Jose starts Valencia and young - two converted wingers - ahead of him.

Because he isn't very good.

Awful coming forward, clumsy at the back. Should be the first out the door asap.

He wasn't giving 8 out of 10s mate..that's man of the match. He has a solid end to last season after a shit season. He started this season shit too. Hes out the team on merit.

Still, individual players aren't the issue now.. the entire team looks shot of confidence

Hard to sympathise with the @#%&!s after that shitshow but this is what we’ve been up against, every £#%&!ing week for years. Refs just won’t give it unless it’s 110% nailed on for fear of getting crucified on tv

Sick of the @#%&!s

Young can't defend, done okayish going forward.

Standards have been lowered severely if we're gonna say Young has been more than solid in recent weeks. Weird to compare him to Lingard who has always been a valuable talent.

With Young and Valencia as fullback we will continue to have issues playing good, consistent football. We're not following the basics.

Darmian has been great whenever he's had a run in the team. Will end up at Juve, Napoli or Inter and be great for them.

young deserves to get banned for that.

on the other hand, soton got away with niggly fouls all game and didn't get anywhere near the number of bookings they should have, particularly after killing our centre forward. and we should have had a penalty (there really can't be any argument over that).

the ref and at least one of the assistants were terrible, as usual.

it's bad enough that you are totally £#%&!ing deluded about our prospects under mourinho, but suggesting young is a bit shit and darmian is anything other than the most pointless player we have is taking it to new levels. if you have a problem with valencia, you should go and have a lie down.

Valencia and Young need to be shipped out asap. Having orthdox fullbacks in there will change the game for us, in more ways than one.

That you are happy with mediocre wingers being our fullbacks is odd.

it's not ideal, but they are two reliable performers. I would be playing valencia in midfield and young on the wing, but still.... needs must. if mourinho would play shaw and tfm/tuanzers, it wouldn't be an issue, but mourinho is a dick.
