Difficult to say really.

We've been blessed with such outstanding players, that it's extremely difficult to say.
Arguments can be made for Eric, Keano, Giggs, Best, Charlton, Edwards, Ronaldo etc for being our best ever player....

Whatever I may think of him these days is irrelevant. It's all about what he's done for the club in the past and the fact he will be our leading goalscorer for years to come. That's whats important.

He's top ten, surely?

At his peak, you'd have to say he'd be in or around a fantasy 'greatest squad of all time' and knocking at the door for a place in the starting 11. The problem I have with him is his inconsistency in terms of doing the basics (trapping the ball, playing a simple pass) - he's been all over the shop, especially in recent seasons. Young Rooney - in my 18 man squad; the Rooney of the last four years, top 50, maybe not even that...
