There's no guarantee he'll get a job straight away. If he decides to take a break from the game Liverpool would be paying him £80K per week. I doubt they can bank on him getting a new job immediately or even quickly.

Also, he'll no doubt have it in his contract that if his next contract is for less then Liverpool will make up the difference. If I was him I'd get the next club to put my wages into the transfer pot safe in the knowledge the scousers are still paying me. In short still risky if the get rid of him.

If he can convince anybody to give him a transfer pot he can easily convince them to pay him £160k a week.
