The problem is he needs a mobile, energetic midfield and forward line around him to work at his best, which we clearly don't have. Aside from Carrick, who can be the one player who doesn't bomb into the box, there's only really Nani who has anything like a decent energy about him. Tony used to, but doesn't anymore, and RVP for all his genius is a finisher not a pacy attacker.


I'm of the opinion that aside from a - as in one - midfielder, what we're really missing is a couple of worldy wingers. Or, Nani back in form and gareth bale
