Default Fat lump Rafael Benitez signs 3 year deal with relegated Newcastle.

So that's Brendan in the Scottish league and his sainted predecessor in the championship.

He will be being paid loads and will spend loads to get out of the Championship first time.

If he fails though

Whilst I don't particularly rate him, he's a lot better than that.

Surprised he's accepted it.

RAWK

- I'm really pleased for him. It's a club that will - I hope - cherish him as we did, and for which he will bring great days. Once he's got them back in the Premier League, they'll become a real threat.

Not many managers of his calibre and record would have the self-confidence and courage to make a commitment like this. I'm sure it will work out well, and he'll be the greater for it. (As well as happier, being able to be close to his family).

Massive bonus if he gets them promoted, something ludicrous like £10m I imagine as the PL cash is obscene now.

He knows the Geordies are a bit like the scousers and he'll be idolised if things go well.

Yep, he's almost in a no lose situation. Which might be why he went back on his original claim he wouldn't manage them if they were relegated.

Or - top managers don't find themselves in this position, with no other options.
