Agreed.
I don't get that because second half he was a lot better, keeping it simple and helping united up the pitch.

i'll reserve judgement on how he's doing in his 2nd season for now

Not happy with his attitude in these matches for us

See how he played for France against England
Flair at the right time but most of the time he kept it simple and quickly shifted the ball
That should have been his standard going forward

Tonight he was back to his indulgent worst
Dwelling on the ball and bad decision making
The moment on the break in the first half when he had two obvious options to play a pass which would have put them through on goal but no instead he slows up and then tries a stupid shot

He's not a young player anymore
Needs to grow up

It's a worry that he's taken over from where Rooney left of, in the fact that if he doesn't play well we'll struggle to win games.

What exactly was incorrect about what I said?

He got a passing grade in his first season but no excuses this season

Obviously it's only the first game so lets see how the first month or two go but it was worrying to see the same flaws as last year

He has all the talent to be the best midfielder in the world but he needs the right mentality
