Morata, whose wife Alice Campello is Italian and moved to London with him, admitted he regretted leaving Juventus to return to Madrid - explaining the environment in Italy was perfectly suited for him.

He added: 'Italy for a Spaniard is the best country to live. You have everything: beauty, history, art, cooking, fashion. I would never have left Italy and Juve.

'The disappointment [of leaving Juventus] was enormous, I found myself back to the starting point. They [Real Madrid] treated me like the guy I was before the two Italian seasons.'

'I came here because there was a coach like Antonio Conte.'
Is he talking about Turin?

Look, everybody has their own tastes, no disputing. But northern Italian cities are every bit as grey, miserable and shitty as any UK City.

Southern Italy....well that's a nice place but seriously, the guy lived in £#%&!ing Madrid for christ's sake and he's complaining about London being too big and multi-cultural?

I just think he's a fanny.

Isn't it also one of the poorest parts of W Europe? The north might not be as nice to look at, but is significantly wealthier.

Steady on there. Venice, Verona, Bologna, Genoa, Florence. All northern Italian cities and a smidgeon nicer than Barnsley and Rotherham.

Yes, yes. It may as well be Manchester to senor Morata.

Downtown Chelsea apparently. Wherever the £#%&! that is?

As for Streatham, I was recently told that some gentrifying middle class types there had begun to write it as St Reatham. How true that is I don't know but it tickled me. Like when I heard people had begun to pronounce Clapham as "Clarham"
