Manchester United would fit in quite well with those other brands you mentioned imo. I know you don't like to admit it but we are the Disney of World Football and you're an avid contributor to the evil machine.

what's this "i know you don't like to admit it" gibberish; what does that even mean?

United do act in a comparable way to Tesco in terms of cherry-picking young talent. On the other hand, United do not try and drive down the price of that young talent constantly, and have instead paid increasingly large fees for some of the youngsters they've taken. where they have crossed the line (imo), Pogba for example, it has still been within the rules laid down by the governing bodies.

I fail to see any meaningful comparison between MacDonalds and Manchester United. They do flood the public arena with advertising and marketing via the media I suppose, especially via television, so presumably that's the link you refer to.

There is an obvious connection between football and television, admittedly.

Of course, the defining difference between Manchester United and the other 3 is that United is not a brand of soap, you can't just go and buy a different make.

errr. You quite clearly can. That's how we got the majority of our support. That and aggresively advertising/touring/investing like Tesco, Sky, McD's etc.

I don't know why you can't admit you are a supporter of one of the world's largest sports brands, and that brandability allows us to compete at a top level.

errr. you quite clearly can because some people have.

of course, if you knew your history then you would've understood the reference.

as for the other part, as ever, you make zero sense. of course Manchester United are one of the world's largest sports brands. and of course the club markets itself across the globe. in terms of it allowing us to compete at the top level, that is open to question. i mean obviously the modern-day exposure on sky sports has allowed massive loans to be secured from the finance industry etc, but believe it or not United have been a big name across the globe for over half a century.
