Default Joe Jordan

seeing as he's in the news today - memories of Joe.

One of my heroes, as a kid playing centre forward and starting going in the mid 70s it was Pearson, then Greenhoff, then Joe came along.

I remember him going up for a cross and hitting some Spurs keeper so hard, the he was stretched off having bitten through his tongue.

Just checked his wiki, he had a goal-to-game ratio of 1 in 4.5. Imagine the abuse he'd be getting for that these days.

If he was a current player he'd be on his arse, rolling around like he'd been maimed after that little tap. Top oldschool skills.

My dad used to say my grandad did that whenever it was kicking off down Newport docks where they lived.

"Here son, hold my teeth...."
