Football Lowest quality World Cup ever?

Pretty even so far. In an 'everyone's pretty shit' kinda way.

Not having a go at the entertainment value, more the quality.

Not much flair, lots of mistakes, big teams hanging on for 1-0's like their lives depended on it.

Who's been the stand out side so far?

im liking it but it is shit. Its like a bad league season where the least £#%&! team will win.

Could be a Leicester type winner

The lack of top notch strikers is glaringly obvious..

Costa, Kane, Ronaldo, Mbappe, Griezmann, Lukaku, Suarez, Aguero all scored at least one so far? Not a bad list imo.

Not a surprise is it? The club game has been mediocre for years with the ridiculous disparity and financial dominance of a few elite teams. Not much room for tactical advancements and innovation when 3/4 teams can buy anyone they want and sit them on their bench, destroy everyone else through sheer talent.

Fewer absolute top level players around than in previous eras in my opinion. Messi and Ronaldo have dominated for 15 years and the current pretenders, Neymar, Griezeman, Dybala, Pogba etc are some way off. Neymar might have come close before his PSG career stall.

Missing the Dutch and the Italians, very few top performances, team or individual so far.

Nowhere near as good as the last one so far but not that different from most I’ve seen, which have often underwhelmed a tad. Some romanticised World Cups like ‘90 and ‘94 were slaughtered at the time by all accounts. And after the 2002 %@#$&!s I have appreciation for any World Cup on at a decent hour.

Plus we watch too much football now and are fed too many memories via YouTube. Football is often a bit shit.

Spain the standout side I have seen thus far. If Costa maintains his start, then I can't make a case for favouring any side over them atm.

But who knows in the knockouts.

It’s been nice to get away from United and all the transfer %@#$&!s tbh but i think it’s been shit apart from maybe 3 games. Ronaldo head and shoulders above everyone

Been enjoying it tbh, just a shame a lot of the smaller nations in particular are really struggling to score goals. Watching Peru earlier was quite sad

Seems like the bigger countries are waiting until the knockout stages to really get going. Or in Argentina's case possibly not at all.
