Looks like we wont find out. United to announce dani alves soon according to catalan rags lately. Free transfer but not really the right age for me, would be doubly hurtful for rafael. The guy who hes supposed to have replaced for brazil coming to united as a 31 yr old to take his place....

Er... Hasn't Alves just signed for PSG? Been in Spain all week and all the papers had it.

Do remember that coming out but was quickly denied.

I'd be surprised if he didnt end up at PSG with Silva, Luiz and co.

Tells a story of how few options there are in the deep lying midfield position. Same problem in the WC, Gerrard was in that role, mostly because his legs are gone rather than it being his best position. Who else is out there? Huddlestone, Barry, Cattermole. Mason is in the squad, but he is very average and more of a box to box type.

Carrick at 33 is in a class of his own.
