Default Team v Bobby Womack - The Official Thread

Not sure if there's much point after yesterdays premature speculation but I'm gonna give it a go anyway. In order to give us an attacking threat and a solid but balanced midfield I'm going with :-

Krusty

Wesley
Rio
Vidic
Senegalese Superman

Hargreaves
Scholes/Carrick*

Ronnie
Rooney
Tevez

Saha

*I don't mind, they can both do the job and I really can't be bothered getting bogged down in another anti-Scholes thread.

3-0 Roma. Cue plenty of doom...

Edit: I'd be happy with that team though Bedders. Think Giggs will start instead of Tevez though. Possibly see Giggs and Scholes rested on Saturday vs Wigan. In fact my main worry atm is whether Wes and Vidic make it.

You're just too good to be true.
Can't take my eyes off you.
You'd be like Heaven to touch.
I wanna hold you so much.
At long last love has arrived
And I thank God I'm alive.
You're just too good to be true.
Can't take my eyes off you.

Pardon the way that I stare.
There's nothing else to compare.
The sight of you leaves me weak.
There are no words left to speak,
But if you feel like I feel,
Please let me know that it's real.
You're just too good to be true.
Can't take my eyes off you.

I love you, Whaley,
And if it's quite alright,
I need you, Whaley,
To warm a lonely night.
I love you, Whaley.
Trust in me when I say:
Oh, pretty Whaley,
Don't bring me down, I pray.
Oh, pretty Whaley, now that I found you, stay
And let me love you, Whaley.
Let me love you.

You may be right about Giggs though he looked like his lergs had gone on Satdee. any word on Wes and Vidic, we don't exactly have great cover there, not with experience in any case.

Giggs out after Satdee. Keep Tevez and Roo up front - they're the main men and this is a main game. I'm assuming Hargreaves, Vidic and Wes are fit:

Great Big Pole

Snipes
Franz
Great Big Serb
Pad-E

Sigourney Weaver
Mickey C
TGP

Chris T. Ano
Missing Vehicle
Wazza

So 4-6-0 again? Interesting.

Giggs will start.

Of course, I say this in hope that he doesn't.

It just looks weird. 3 at the back, with a 5 man midfield, Hargreaves dropping deep to protect the 3 centre backs, and Ronaldo and Evra wide right/left, attacking the full backs. Creativity from Carrick and Scholes to provide Tevez and Rooney. If it's not working out by half time, bring Scholes/Carrick off for Giggs, drop Evra into left back, Wes goes right and Giggs takes left wing in the 4-4-2.

I doubt he'll make such radical changes to the team in both selection, positions and formation but kudos on the audacity.

Thanks. I'd rather have Evra on the left wing than Giggsy at this moment in time though, wouldnt you? Not taking anything away from Giggsy, just would like to see how Evra performed there.

By the way, those of you advocating continuing with the system we've used so far this season, don't complain when we play similarly dull football tonight. that aint gonna change 'til the formation and personel do.

The one thing I don't like about the current formation is the role Giggs has. If he was given a more suitable role on the bench and replaced with fresh air, I believe the rest of the side will be in a position to hold the ball among themselves for more than 2 minutes at a time.

That's harsh, he played well against Chelsea for a start. What we actually need is a centre forward and players to support him.

Not entirely sure about that. We need to improve the speed of our passing, far too slow at the moment which means opposing teams get behind the ball quite easily.

If that happens, and we're still struggling to find the net then perhaps a number 9 in for one of Tevez and Rooney is the way forwards. The latter two will then have to get used to rotation. Neither will be happy about that but hey ho...
