He does not trust himself to play into midfield, through lines, and risk an interception. Less of an issue in a Mourinho team where his game will be simplified. He used to be more willing to carry the ball forward and then dump it off, just as frustrating in its own way when a good position is wasted.
Bailley is still quite raw, had a nightmare at Watford, and for a guy with excellent spring he mistimes a surprising amount of his leaps and loses aerials but I like him, plenty of ability.
