Not sure how anyone can paint jones as a majestic footballer. Both his decision making and his first touch can be awful - they often conspire together which leads the bumbling oaf into making rash physical and injury threatening challenges as he desperately tries to recover himself from situations he himself has created.
He can be unbelievably poor - shit even - but can also show glimpses of being decent. Overall though, I'm struggling to see how anyone can assess him as being anything other than bang average with a brain the size of a pea. |

Jones needs to be moved on simply because his body is made out of quavers.
Bruce/Pallister and Vidic/Stam were consistent partnerships and very rarely injured. That is a vital quality if you plan to build from the back. Jones is an alright defender but a bit of an gurning, clumsy oaf the way he gets around the pitch. He has the grace of a fully built wardrobe falling down two flights of stairs. As for Rojo, the #@&%! irritated me immensly on Saturday and that penalty he gave away was waiting to happen. I said at the start of his time here that I felt he was too impetious in the challenge and would cost us in a lot of games. Nothing has changed my mind. Sell both and slap a huge wad on Kenwrights board room table for Stones. Mike and Stones are the long future for both club and country. If Stones is out of reach get Laporte in before Barca or Real make their move. |
