On SSN European lawyers has said that this 5 home grown players rule is now legal how soon can we expect to see it in force?

How do you define a "home grown player"?

I only ask because Arsenal might not be able to field a 5 a side team.

What about Inter??!! I am sure Platini just sits thinking how can I £#%&! up the PL and doesn't even seriously consider the other leagues across Europe.

Oh there'll be little loopholes and 'get out clauses' so that Italy and Spain's finest won't be hindered in the slightest, don't worry.

It was observed last night that the vermin actually had more spaniards in their starting 11 than Real Madrid did...

We will be ok won't we?

Depends what 'home grown' is defined as, if it's English/British/come through the ranks, then yes...

Rio
Evans
O'Shea
Giggs
Carrick

on Tuesday.

If it was just through the youth ranks, we'd be struggling a little. Not as much as most though.

O'shea isn't British, not sure about Evans, is he Norn or south of the border ?

Come through the ranks.

Re-read it.

No matter what happens, players that have progressed through the youth system will always be OK.

Never, because other lawyers (probably representing the European Clubs Association) will contest it, earning everyone lovely big legal fees for years to come.

It's legal according to this "independent" report.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/f...t-1632812.html

I think the European Commission might disagree.

According to the article you must have 6 players who are eligable to play for the home association, obviouslt England so if that is the case Giggs, Evans, Fletcher & O'Shea wouldn't qualify.

£#%&!ing hell, so, 20 PL clubs/teams 6 per team, 120 english players, plus you would have to have at least as many subs or you would be £#%&!ed for injuries and suspensions, so 200 ish English players in the prem

There's only about 100 now isn't there? I would think it's unworkable, in every country.
